Vocational Training Centre
hands, along with project partners Akha Rescue Ministry (A.R.M.) runs a Vocational Training Centre in the same area as the girls and boys hostels.
Because there is no access for children within these communities to further or higher education, they remain vulnerable; without employment, without any real skills.
The training focuses on life-skills development, sewing, art and crafts, computer literacy and administrative/secretarial skills
The training creates new employment opportunities and provides economic independence within the trainees local communities.
The training is given either in the Centre, adjacent to one of the hostels, or at one of our various project sites. Local tutors are employed to implement the curriculum and activities.
The Vocational Training Centre is also open to girls of higher age groups who have been rescued and are without education, skills or experience.
