hands exists to serve people in need
hands works to relieve the hardship suffered by displaced people and seeks to combat the trafficking of children in some of the most deprived and difficult regions of SE Asia.
hands is founded on experience and dedication
hands was established through the cooperation of a group of people who share over 40 years of experience in community development and the provision of relief aid.
This experience was gained in a variety of organisations and in different parts of the world, including East Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
hands follows a 'ground upwards' approach
hands is committed to grass-roots development. Working with poor and/or disadvantaged communities, hands is helping to maximise the benefits of local knowledge, skills and other resources.
This approach enables hands personnel to effectively facilitate development, whether it be in the form of training extension workers, income generation, agriculture, education or health care and nutrition.

hands was registered as a charity in the United Kingdom in 1995.
